The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Chau Thanh District, An Giang, has just organized a workshop to replicate the model of growing straw mushrooms in baskets in An Chau Town. This is a new model, first deployed in An Chau Town, which has attracted local farmers to visit, learn, and share their experiences. This is a model of the cooperation project between An Giang and Sweden that is being implemented in Chau Thanh District.
After the implementation period, the model of growing straw mushrooms in baskets recorded many advantages compared to growing them outdoors. Typically, after the incubation period of straw mixed with cotton, only each straw basket yields about mushrooms 2.5 kg in one week.
As a result, it saves raw materials, has a fast mushroom production time, is highly productive, and is easy to care for, harvest, and clean the farm. In the near future, the locality will continue to replicate the model in communes such as Binh Hoa, An Hoa, Binh Thanh, and Vinh Nhuan.
